I think waiting for an increase is a long wait for a train that isn't coming, my friend. It hasn't changed in all this time, and not enough people are familiar with it or even care to do anything about it. You have to think, with the job market the way it is now days, fewer and fewer people are even concerned about a pension, much less an increase.

Sorry champ unless you are an old age pensioner (who I believe has earnt their pension) or someone with a serious disability (wheelchair bound, etc) frankly go out and work if you want more money!

Dont get me wrong i am will ing to support those who cant support themselves in fact i would give aged penioners a raise to 30 odd thousand a year if i was pm, the way i figure they have earnt it paid their taxes and worked to make our country great why not reward them and look after them in their older years.

Ditto with serious disabilities- they need care and should be afforded it by our government.

The rest however can get no increase sorry i dont care what else it is, go work for your money like the rest of us!

Anyone who wants to complain about this view of mine only has to look at the fact there are seriously disabled people working for a living at the endevour society and likewise, if they have the drive and ability to hold down a full time job why cant those with lesser afflictions?

Anyway champ if you are one of those in the categories i mentioned regards aged or disability wise, good luck and hope it comes through soon, if not get off your butt and get a job that can suppliment your welfare check!

No matter where you live I wouldn't hold my breath for any increases. The problem is that the population is getting older. More people over the age of 50 than under the age of 50. So more of us are looking at retirement and each year the contributions get smaller and smaller while the demand for benefits gets bigger and bigger. If anything I think pensions will decrease. Most of us are not prepared for retirement at all even in our fifties so we will all be looking to our Governments to supplement our incomes. We will be working more years before we can retire if ever and many are seeking to rejoin the workforce after only 5 years into retirement because they just can't make ends meet.
