What are the legal requirements for driving an elderly person to do their shopping?
The driver would be using their own car, and will be paid by the elderly person – both an hourly rate for time and money for petrol. In Scotland.
This is regarding a business arrangement, in the same way as home helps receive payment for assisting the elderly…. no more numpty comments please!
Quite simply to have a valid driving License and be insured on the car he/she is driving.
Check with the insurance Co that you are with and inform them of this as it will be a little extra on the insurance but not much.
Since you are being paid hourly, I would charge no more. UNLESS of course the elderly person is like rich. But as a rule elderly people unless rich don’t have a ton of money to throw around. So myself I would show some compassion. WHO knows maybe they have some money and when they die they’ll leave you some.
I dont know what the requirments are but i can belive your ripping an elderly person off like that, what happened to doing good deeds?
Never been to Scotland. Try going to Scotland Yard and asking the “Furry hat men in the red suits”.
You tightfisted scots,****..
