Is the Australian government giving enough money each fortnight for the old age and disability pensioner’s?
I would like to know because we all have lives too.
It would be nice to get more money it would make things a bit easy er that’s all. what do you think and how much more should we get paid?
You’ve asked a great question there Kate. Have a star!
My folks are on the age pension, and my dear dad has worked man and boy for 50 years to assist this great nation to prosper, as he paid his fair share of taxes over that time. There was no compulsory employer funded superannuation for him.
He has earned the right to a comfortable retirement, and that for my mother as well.
So what is he getting?
Bugger all in fortnightly payments, plus –
Rip-off at the supermarket checkout, the petrol bowser, the inflation he never caused eating away at his meagre savings, increases in rates, power bills, water rates, transport costs and other regular bills.
Then my folks have to wait months for medical and dental attention, and I’d hate to think what would happen if they required major surgery.
They then see Mr Rudd and his mob, and all the public servants giving themselves ridiculously high pays and increases, they see new taxes and levies, and they get a “No more money for pensioners” kick in the federal budget.
You ask if the government is giving enough money for the old age pension?
This government appears to despise the aged, instead of saluting and rewarding them. It’s alright for them… most are ex-union bludgers who have their future nests well and truly feathered.
It’s a disgrace!!
