If they do, ask if you can be put on it and they would cut your grass, hedge etc. Failing that, contact community services. I am disabled and teams of people from community service came out and cut my grass etc for years. It's worth a try! Private gardens are often a lot safer than dedicated areas for allotments what with break ins and thefts from unprotected allotments and someone may be delighted to take it on.
