if you have a senior citizen center try advertising there or just put an add in the papers

I don’t know where you live , but here in the Mid- west you have to be certified and licenced with Uncle Sam to get paid other than from the elderly. A lady here I know takes in two at a time because she doesn’t want to be licensed any more. It was to much hassle she said. With only two you don’t need to be licensed. They live with her, she cooks, bath, feeds, and gives love and all the care they need.
You can go to a nursing home and talk to the families of the elderly or put an ad in the health section of your local paper. My friend use to get $1600.00 a month (more if the family could afford it ) but due to hard times she has lowered her price to accommodate the elderly more. It’s hard on her and she now has the family buy all diapers and needed things. Use to she supplied it all for them..

I hope you have all your paperwork & permits in order. You will technically be running a home-based business & the Fire Dept will need to inspect your home for this. Your insurance rates will skyrocket (if you can get a policy for your home). You will need to register with your city & county & state board of caregivers if you are in the US. When you advertise, you’ll be overwhelmed with agencies knocking on your door & calling you to “visit” with you in your home! Sounds like you might want to start with making a call to your City Hall or Business license Office…then call zoning, health, & fire to see if your address allows you to accept renters, clients or non-blood relatives in your home for profit. You will also need a tax ID # to file as a source of where this income is coming from!

Go to your local Social Security Department,
they will come out and check your home for loose floor boards and torn carpets that could cause an old person to have an accident. If everything is A1 they will get you someone who needs care. You seem to be very kind with a good heart, hope everything goes your way.

You may have to have a number of licenses and inspections to run something out of your house. I don’t know where you live but if it is the US, you probably have to be licensed.
Then food inspection, safety, sleeping areas, all kind of other things. Your thoughts are very nice but governmental wisdom usually gets involved somewhere along the line.
You don’t have problems with being a caregiver of a relative but then you will also probably want to have medical power of attorney or fiscal power of attorney. You’ll want a lawyer on either of these set ups.
Good luck.

That’s not as simple as it sounds. Here in Cal. if one were to do that, the State would come in and make them re-do their home (every bedroom must have an outside door), there would be fire aids, bathroom grab bars, a totally new fire sprinkler system would need to be installed. there would need to be a 24-hour nurse on the premises. There are food preparation rules, etc. etc.
The only way this can be accomplished here is to
just rent a couple of rooms and don’t specify for Seniors.
If you are going to be their Caregiver, you must go to classes to learn and do all the other rules.
Frankly, that’s why many Seniors can’t find anywhere to live.

Your first step is to get licensed – no insurance company or health care plan will pay for anyone’s board & care if you aren’t licensed. Call your local health department or county licensing office for rules, regulations, & guidelines. Check the newspaper for ads for similar living situations to what you will be offering. Your home will be examined by the city or county from time to time to make certain it is up to the necessary health & safety standards for such a facility. Good luck to you.
