My elderly mother needs some help 2 days a week, mostly for companionship. Are there any agencies that offer volunteers for elderly people a couple of hours a day?

The driver would be using their own car, and will be paid by the elderly person – both an hourly rate for time and money for petrol. In Scotland.
This is regarding a business arrangement, in the same way as home helps receive payment for assisting the elderly…. no more numpty comments please!

My elderly mother is in the hospital but the doctors will not talk to me or my sister about what is going on with our mother. She is unable to walk and has been in the hospital off and on for over a month.
