Can you depreciate trees, shrubs and gardens in a newly developed shopping mall and office building?



A development company finished contruction on a new shopping mall and office building. To make the place look more appealing, they did substantial landscaping including planting trees, shrubs and gardens. Can depreciation deductions be claimed on any of the items aboce, IF SO, what is the depreciable life?

    Yes you can. Generally its a 10 year cycle at 10 percent per year.
