I do pay for Health and Drug Ins..... about 300 a month..... I keep it because if something serious happens I go to the US ...... It varies by municipality, though. Who knows what the pension will be by the time you retire, or what the cost of living will be by then. it's hard to predict an exact dollar amount. Look at it this way, if you put in 25 years on the force, you will still be young enough to retire and start a new career if you want. Economists believe that law enforcement is the only true recession proof career! America needs good people because we have some trying times ahead.
