Any suggestions for travelling in Europe with an elderly person who needs home oxygen?

Can you recommend a supplier of home oxygen in London, Paris, Berlin, Munich? OK, before ppl get excited, this elderly person gets short of breath and needs oxygen occasionally. And was NOT a smoker. Thanks.

In Germany you should be able to get home oxygen from a pharmacy (Apotheke) or a Sanitätshaus (which is a supply shop for anything you need for home care or similar).

But take this info with a grain of salt, while I am German I’ve never needed the stuff myself (thank God) and thus never tried to get it.

You might want to look at to find the address of an English-speaking doctor in Munich or Berlin – this doctor will be able to give you a definite answer and issue you a prescription if you need it.

For the UK there is an excellent site for you to check out:

I agree with t_maia20 on everything. However, I would expect that the person needs to purchase the complete Oxygen works while in Europe. They might not have cylinders and parts in U.S. measurements. They use the metric system. Contact the local German embassy or consulate that is closest to where you live. They CAN get you all of the information you need. Have FUN !!

You will probably need to rent equipment as well as buy. Here is a list of disability equipment rental places around the world. Many of those places should also be able to supply the equipment and supplies that you are looking for:
